Ashe nearly makes finals at U.S. Senior ChampionshipsPublished by
Newly crowed U.S. junior champion and U.S. national junior and high school record holder Shelby Ashe was just feet away from making the finals in senior section of the meet. In the event, won by Nike's Amber Campbell with a throw of 61.77m (202-08), Ashe placed ninth, with the top eight throwers qualifying for the finals. Ashe, is just a high school junior and turned 17 in March, will continue her season next month at the World Junior Championships. She is currently ranked fifth in the world and sits just five feet behind world leader Yirisleyidi L. Ford of Cuba.
