17 Prep Athletes Entered to Compete in the US Olympic Team Trials

There are 17 high school athletes (or recent graduates) that have been accepted to compete in the 2016 US Olympic Team Trials in Eugene, Oregon from July 1st through July 10th. Below is a list of all 17 athletes and what time they are set to run. The list will be updated as the trials go on.

100 Meters:

Candace Hill - 18th in the First Round, 11.23. 13th in Semifinals, 11.07.

Noah Lyles - 22nd in the First Round, 10.16. 

Kaylin Whitney - 15th in the First round, 11.18. 16th in Semifinals, 11.15.

200 Meters:

Candace Hill - 6th in the First round, 22.93. 14th in the Semifinals, 23.05

Kaylin Whitney - 17th in the First round, 23.14. 11th in the Semifinals, 23.03

Michael Norman - 5th in the Finals 20.14

Noah Lyles - 4th in the Finals 20.09, national high school record

400 Meters:

Michael Norman - Finished 20th in first round, 46.21.

800 Meters:

Samantha Watson - Finished 24th in first round, 2:04.12.

1,500 Meters:

Kate Murphy - 20th in the Semifinal round, 4:14.52

Christina Aragon - 14th in the Semifinal round, 4:12.71

100m Hurdles:

Chanel Brissett - 18th in the Semifinal round, 13.37

400m Hurdles:

Sydney McLaughlin - 2nd in the Semifinal round, 55.23. Finals Sunday at 4:03 p.m.

Anna Cockrell - 11th in the Semifnal round, 56.51

High Jump:

Vashti Cunningham - Tied for 1st in Qualifying, 1.84 meters. Finished 2nd, 1.97 meters. Made the Olympic team.

Vernon Turner - No height made in qualifying round

Noah Martin - No height made in qualifying round

Pole Vault:

Chris Nilsen - NH in Qualifying

Long Jump:

Tara Davis - Finished 19th in Qualifying, 6.09 meters

Samiyah Samuels - Finished 17th in Qualifying, 6.19 meters.

Discus:

Elena Bruckner - Finished 16th in Qualifying, 54.64 meters.
